This series is my 2nd top choice of games if you love building from ground up with beautiful places to visit and a great storyline, and progressive up-grades.
Great story line and the graphics were wonderful. LOVE IT<<< can't wait to see where and what we will be going to now!
Another build a lot that doesnt let you down.
I didn't care for this game as much as I do the other Build a lot games. Just to get started you have to build an apothecary, a well, and a windmill just to keep your town healthy or you pay a heavy price. I also didn't like the fact that you had to build not only a workshop to purchase workers, but a separate carpenter shop in order to inspect your property. In addition, you had to build a quarry for materials. Not to mention the blacksmith if you wanted faster workers. So, just to get set up to build, you have to have 7 buildings in place. While this did add to the challenge of the game, it was annoying to have to spend all the money and use up space for so many necessary buildings. Also, the carpenter didn't come in to play until late in the game so I spent a lot of time and money fixing property throughout the game. Other than that...it was a typical Build a lot game.
Having completed 1-3 and barely getting into 'challenge' level on 4 but not completing I was thrilled to be able to finish this edition! I had to play some levels multiple times but I did it! Some of the sounds were very annoying but finishing made it all pale in comparison! Definitely worth it and the bigfish price makes it a MUST HAVE for all building game fans!!!
I like this build a lot game very much. It is chalanging and fun. I try to see how much money I can accumulate by games end. So far i have reached over 1.5 billion.
I don't know how I missed this Elizabethan Era game in this fantastic series of resource management games for so long. Being from England, I loved the theme of the game, set during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I in the 1500s. I found it charming and a challenge in the later levels. Can you play timed mode and complete a level on Expert first time, every time? I couldn't, but that's the fun part - you plan ahead, work out your best strategy, even before starting a new level, and try to finish that level faster every time. The Elizabethan language and little facts such as the money actually being in Pounds Sterling rather than Dollars made such a difference. One of the best in this top notch building game series.
great game play in timed mode for a challenge or in relaxed mode for fun either way you'll have fun and enjoy it one tiny problem i got so hooked i could'nt leave it alone till i had completed all the cities more levels or a follow up possibly in a different era would be brilliant
Good Parts: The ancient english setting has a unique twist on the game. This really paid off. Good Graphics. It really felt like I was playing a modern day game. Goals- Unlike Build a lot 4: Power Source the majority of the goals were really easy, which I loved. (I'm the sort to give up after the first try# OK Parts: Adding farmers was a good move but at random points of the game, they became sick and it costs money #5,000# to heal them. Sometimes I was really short for cash and this was impossible. Bad Parts: The Old English language seemed to annoy me. I felt it wasn't needed and made the game frustrating. I feel the game focused a little too much on the "England 1900s" theme. With its language and farms etc. Achieving happiness #or appeal) uinlike the other games seemed to be quite a challenge. While it helped that upgrading a house improved the happiness rating, it still took me quite a while to achieve. Overall, this game will provide a good challenge for new and experinced players of the series, and I guarentee you'll really enjoy it!
